What is Chinese Ceramic Membrane


Membrane separation technology is a new high-efficiency separation technology that uses the selective separation function of the membrane to achieve the separation, purification, and concentration of different components of the material. According to the different membrane materials, the membrane materials used in membrane separation can be divided into inorganic membranes (ceramic membranes) and organic membranes.

Chinese Ceramic Membranes and Their Structure


Chinese Ceramic Membrane is a membrane made of powder materials such as alumina (Al2O3), zirconia (ZrO2), and titania (TiO2) through a special process. The walls of the ceramic membrane tube are densely packed with micropores, and under pressure, the raw material fluid flows on the outer side of the membrane inside the tube. Small molecules (or liquids) pass through the membrane, while large molecules (or solid particles, liquid droplets) are intercepted by the membrane, thereby achieving the purpose of separating, concentrating, and purifying different components of the material liquid.


From a structural perspective, Chinese Ceramic Membrane generally consists of a support layer, transition layer, and membrane layer to form a non-symmetric structure. The support layer constitutes the main structure of the ceramic membrane, providing the necessary mechanical strength for the membrane layer. It has a high porosity and larger average pore size, which are the main factors determining the mechanical strength, chemical stability, and other properties of the ceramic membrane; the membrane layer is a dense ceramic film formed by coating the surface of the transition layer through sintering, typically with a thickness of several tens of microns. By using different ceramic powder materials and sintering processes, the pore size, pore distribution, and other characteristics of the membrane layer can be adjusted, thereby controlling the filtration range, separation precision, and other functional indicators of the Chinese Ceramic Membrane; the transition layer is a transition structure between the membrane layer and the support layer, preventing ceramic powder from the membrane layer from penetrating into the support layer, and helping the membrane layer and the support layer bond better.

  • High filtration efficiency: Chinese ceramics membrane adopts a large-diameter honeycomb integrated design, providing uniform hydraulic distribution and high operational efficiency;

  • High porosity of support layer: Ensures high filtration and backwashing flux, achieving high filtration and backwashing efficiency;
